On September 13 and 14, 2018, at Shenzhen Sunshine Hotel, a seminar and panel discussions organized by Kangxin Partners, P.C. was held between four countries (the United States, Italy, South Korea, and Japan). The seminar was aimed at encouraging Chinese companies to file applications overseas.
On September 13, Ms. Miki Tomii, patent attorney and Divisional Manager of Trademark/Law Division, along with Ms. Michelle Ciotola, a lawyer of Cantor Colburn LLP (US), Mr. Davide Leiballi and Ms. Mariella Massaro, associates of Jacobacci & Partners (Italy), and Ms. Sun-Young Park, a trademark attorney of Kim & Chang (South Korea), delivered a lecture on (i) an overview and examples of trademark opposition, (ii) an overview and examples of trademark invalidation and cancellation, (iii) trademark right enforcement and relief and examples thereof, and cases of Gucci vs. Guess in countries.
On September 14, our attorney Mr. Masato Sasaki, patent attorney and Divisional Manager of the International Patent/Design Division, along with a lawyer of Cantor Colburn LLP (US), a lawyer of Jacobacci & Partners (Italy) and a patent attorney of Kim & Chang (South Korea), delivered a lecture on a specific invention (Dyson’s bladeless Fan).
Each lecture was followed by an active Q & A session, and there was observed a strong interest in protecting intellectual property rights abroad.
