On May 18, 2017, President KIHARA Yoshitake, and patent attorneys Mr. NAGANO Atsushi and Mr. TAKAHASHI Tomohiro visited Ms. HONG, Shu-min, Director General of TIPO, and also exchanged opinions with executive officers of the Examination Division. In the opinion exchange meeting, an active question and answer session was held on topics such as a new examination guideline which will be enforced in July of this year regarding inventive step in Taiwan, and interviews with examiners in the course of examinations in Taiwan. President KIHARA introduced recent trends in filing applications in Japan.
